Share Recovery Agent in Guwahati
Distance is the practical problem for shareholders in Assam: company registrars sit in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai, and a claim that stalls can be hard to chase from Guwahati.
We handle that correspondence for families across Assam — tracing folios, preparing documents, filing IEPF claims and following up until the shares reach your demat account. The first assessment is free.

Assam holdings and the registrar problem
Guwahati’s trading and professional families, and the tea industry that shaped commerce across the region, produced a steady base of retail shareholders from the 1980s onwards. Almost none of the companies involved keep a registry anywhere near Assam.
That makes ordinary friction worse. A rejected form, a signature query or a missing attestation can each cost weeks, and a family without someone to pursue it tends to give up — which is how dividends go unclaimed for seven years and the shares end up with the IEPF.
Assam documentation for a deceased shareholder
Assam issues what is called a Next of Kin Certificate, applied for through the state’s Sewa Setu portal or in person at the Deputy Commissioner’s, Sub-Divisional Officer’s or Circle Officer’s office. The application goes to the Circle Officer, and a revenue official or the Gaon Pradhan verifies the family details locally.
In many cases no such certificate is needed. SEBI’s simplified transmission route covers holdings up to ₹10 lakh per company in physical form and ₹30 lakh in demat, on a notarised indemnity bond and an affidavit-cum-NOC from the other legal heirs.
- Next of Kin Certificate where a state-issued document is required
- Death certificate, SEBI’s transmission request form (Annexure-3) and the claimant’s KYC documents
- Notarised indemnity bond and affidavit-cum-NOC from the other heirs
- A demat account in the claimant’s name, with a current Client Master List
What we handle for clients in Guwahati
How a Guwahati claim actually runs
Five stages, the same wherever you are. Nothing here needs you to travel, and nothing is billed until the last one.
- 1
Free assessment
You send whatever you have — a certificate, a folio number, a name, sometimes only a company. We tell you what exists and what it is likely worth before you commit to anything.
- 2
Tracing and confirmation
We search the IEPF records and write to the registrar to confirm the holding, the corporate actions applied to it since, and who it currently stands in the name of.
- 3
Documents assembled
Death certificate, heirship evidence, indemnity bond, NOCs, KYC and the demat account details — prepared in the order the registrar and the company will want them.
- 4
Filing and follow-up
Form IEPF-5, the transmission request or the duplicate issue is filed, and we chase the company Nodal Officer and the Authority until the verification report moves.
- 5
Shares credited
The securities are credited directly to your own demat account. Our fee becomes payable at this point, and not before.
Zero advance fee — what Guwahati clients pay, and when
We charge no advance professional fee. Our fee is a percentage agreed with you before we start, payable only once the shares or dividends have reached your own demat or bank account. If nothing is recovered, you owe us no professional fee at all.
- Nothing to pay for the assessment, and nothing while the claim is running
- The percentage is fixed in writing before any work starts — it does not move later
- Statutory and third-party costs — stamp duty, notary, court fees, newspaper notices — are paid by you at actuals, with receipts
- Shares are credited to your account, never to ours; we never take custody of your securities
Anyone who asks you for money before a claim has been assessed is worth walking away from. Read the full fee policy.

Questions from Guwahati
Do we have to travel to Mumbai to deal with the registrar?
No. Registrars accept documents by post and increasingly through online service portals, and we handle the correspondence and follow-up on your behalf from Gurugram.
What is a Next of Kin Certificate?
It is Assam’s equivalent of a legal heir certificate, applied for on the Sewa Setu portal or through the Deputy Commissioner, Sub-Divisional Officer or Circle Officer, and verified locally before it is issued.
Our claim was rejected once already. Can it be refiled?
Yes. A rejected IEPF claim can be filed again as a fresh Form IEPF-5 once the defect is fixed, and most rejections come down to document mismatches rather than entitlement.
Can you work with families elsewhere in the North East?
Yes. The process is the same wherever you live; only state-issued certificates depend on where the shareholder lived.
What do you charge?
Nothing upfront and nothing for the assessment. An agreed percentage of the value is charged once the shares are credited, with statutory costs paid by you at actuals.
